LAMBTON NETS NAMINK AS FIRST 2019 COMMIT

The Lambton Lions formally met with 6'6 wing Gabe Namink today on campus in making him the first commit of the 2019 recruiting class. Namink, a student-athlete at Wallaceburg District S.S., will add some local flavour to the roster that mainly hails from the GTA and Detroit.

"We have been watching Gabe for a few years now and have been incredibly impressed by his work ethic and drive to improve," says Coach Grant. "His ability to shoot the ball while having a high basketball IQ that allows him to make good in-game decisions is something that the entire coaching staff feels can help our team."

Gabe is currently averaging 19 points per game for the Tartans to go along with eight boards and five assists. He is the defending LKSSAA MVP in his division.

"Coach Grant was the first coach to really take an interest in my game," says Gabe of his connection with the Lions' head coach. "I spent time with him and Coach Concisom in the off-season and really began to refine my fundamentals. My shot has improved and I think my ability to shoot the ball will help my transition to the next level."

Gabe is the son of Bill and Robin.

Welcome to Lambton, Gabe!
