The Lambton College women's basketball team knocked off the UTM Eagles on Sunday by a score of 63-57. The win moved the Lions to 10-6 on the season and more securely into the 4th spot in the OCAA West.
Morgan Wagg led all scorers with 18 points for the Lions. Christine Fleischer and Ashleigh Petit each scored 15 with Fleischer also pulling down 22 rebounds. Shelby Bigras had seven points, Madisyn Campbell six and Daylin Galvin two.
Lambton now prepares for three games in five days beginning with Redeemer coming to Sarnia on Friday night. The Lions then head to Niagara on Sunday to face the Knights before returning home to host Fanshawe next week.
The Lambton College men's basketball team fell 80-73 to UTM as the Eagles dominated the glass throughout the game. The loss sees the Lions record move to 8-8 on the season as struggled continue without the presence of forward Jason Watts.
Kardon Edwards had 25 points for Lambton with Tyvell Peters scoring 15 and Journee Joseph 11. Others hitting the scoresheet were Denes Hegedus with eight, Deiondre Reid five to go with 16 rebounds, Keith Laryea three, Damian Omorogbe two, Shak Seymour two and Dwayne Lambert-Cadore two.
The Lions now have a tough three game stretch against teams above them in the standings beginning this Friday against Redeemer.
