Mitchell Pitcher, Infielder Ryan Hubbard Commits to Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for 2026 Season

SARNIA – The Mitchell to Lambton pipeline has landed another star on the diamond for the Lions.

Ryan Hubbard has officially committed to Head Coach Al Bezaire and the Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for the 2026 season, and beyond.

Hubbard is the second commitment in the 2026 recruiting class for Bezaire and company. Hubbard will join Braydon Mann (Strathroy, Ont.) as a newcomer with the Lions on the baseball diamond when the 2026 season opens in September.

“I’m really excited to come to Lambton (College) and compete,” said Hubbard. “We have a great team next year, one that’s looking to compete for a Gold Medal at OCAAs, and I’m just really excited to be here.”

“I’m looking forward to competing with the guys we have here each time out. I know the team fell short of their goal this year, so I’m ready to compete and do whatever I can to help the team win.”

Hubbard, a six-foot-two pitcher and corner infielder, comes to Lambton College by way of Mitchell, Ontario and Mitchell District High School. Hubbard is the latest Blue Devil alum to commit to Lambton College and the Lions in recent years, joining a list of current Men’s Baseball and Men’s Basketball student-athletes that have traded their MDHS jerseys for Lambton blue.

Outside of high school, Hubbard plays on various teams within the Mitchell Astros program, on top of playing with other programs in the Mitchell area. This coming summer, he will suit up with the Astros 22U and Senior Programs.

With the Lions, Hubbard will have a level of familiarity with several members of the 2026 Men’s Baseball roster after having player with or against them over the years, including the likes of Kale Murray, Luke Murray, PJ Marshall, and Austin McCourt, among others.

For Bezaire, it’s the program’s second commitment in as many days. He’s excited about the potential that Hubbard brings to the Lions roster, particularly on the mound, heading into 2026.

“We are very pleased to have Ryan join us here at Lambton,” said Bezaire. “He comes highly regarded from many current Lions, and he fits the profile of players we are always looking for to fill our roster with.”

“He is another player who we have been in contact with for about 18 months, and he had expressed interest in joining us for quite some time. We look for him to be a ‘dawg’ on the mound, someone who battles, grinds, and hopefully contributes meaningful, high leverage innings for us as either a starter or out of the ‘pen and do whatever he can to help us win ball games.”

Hubbard was asked what Lambton fans can expect from him when he takes to the diamond in a Lions jersey for the first time in the fall. His answer confirms what Bezaire said about him joining the program, and he’ll fit right in with the current roster.

“Just that dirtbag attitude,” added Hubbard. “100% effort and compete level from the first to the seventh inning.”

“I’m just looking to help my team win in any way possible.”

Academically, Hubbard will be enrolled in the Business Program at Lambton College.

Welcome to The Den, Ryan!
