Women’s Soccer Kicks Off 2026 Recruiting Class with Commitment from Sarnia Defender Tabitha Chipman

SARNIA – Fortified the back line.

Defender Tabitha Chipman has officially committed to Head Coach Kevin Simmonds and the Lambton Women’s Soccer Program for the 2026 season, and beyond.

Chipman is the first commitment for Coach Simmonds and the Lions in the 2026 recruiting class.

“I’m very excited,” said Chipman after making her college commitment official. “I’ve always wanted to play on the Lambton team, so this is something that I’ve been looking forward to for a while.”

“I chose Lambton because it’s close to home, and I can still see my family and friends. I know a lot of the people here already, and I get the chance to play with one of my best friends who is already on the team.”

Chipman, a five-foot-five defender, comes to Lambton College by way of Great Lakes Secondary School. Chipman is the latest Wolfpack student-athlete to join the Lions across various sports.

With the Wolfpack, Chipman played varsity soccer all four years. This past year, Chipman played for the senior boys’ team as GLSS didn’t have enough players to field a senior girls team.

Outside of high school, Chipman plays for the Sarnia Girls Soccer Club (SGSC) Women’s Program.

Simmonds has seen Chipman develop through the Sarnia Girls Soccer Club over the years, from U13 through to U18. He is looking forward to her continuing her development with the Lambton Women’s Soccer Program.

“Tabitha has developed a strong shot and moves the ball down the field with authority,” said Simmonds. “She is a physical defender who has versatility to play other positions.”

“Tabitha is an avid soccer player who rarely misses a training session. She has also played Indoor at SGSC skills sessions, and at BMO Field (in London).”

Chipman is no stranger to Lambton College or the Lambton Women’s Soccer Program. With her ties to both the institution and the program, she is looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for her starting in September.

“I’m looking forward to the change and a new start,” added Chipman. “I’m also looking forward to playing a higher level of soccer and challenging myself more.”

“Also, starting off new with the Pre-Health Program and seeing what that is like and has to offer.”

Academically, Chipman will be enrolled in the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas & Degrees Program at Lambton College.

Welcome to The Den, Tabitha!
